Sex in the cities
Sex is a taboo topic in many cultures. However, it has been a favorite theme among artists from the earliest civilizations to modern times, perhaps the most concrete proof that art is the ultimate expression of the desires, frustrations and anguish of humanity.
Take this masturbation scene, for example. Situated on one of the railings of the University of Salamanca, Spain just across the famous university facade, the sculpture is just one of the many peculiarities that depict student life in Spain's most accomplished university town.
Or take this painting of the vagina from a sex museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The city has distinguished itself as being the most permissive and liberal European capital and I suspect that most people go there for the saucy part of the excursion.
