Confessions of a ceiling addict (Part III)

My search continues for beautiful ceilings in Spain! In my first post, we've been to Leon, Salamanca, Seville, Burgos and Toledo, while in the second blog entry we've visited Madrid, Granada, Salamanca, Cordoba and Palma de Mallorca.

Palacio Real, MADRID. This is one of the exquisite murals painted on the ceiling panels of the palace where state ceremonies are usually held. Awestruck tourists have to be careful not to trip on the steps while taking pictures of the ceiling, though.

Museo de Bellas Artes, SEVILLE. This is kinda far from the center of town, but the museum is worth the visit not only for its art collection but also for its architectural features that include a conserved façade of a convent, charming interior patios and this marvelous and very detailed ceiling.

Catedral de ÁVILA. I discovered this chapel serendipitously when I entered the wrong door. I think it's dedicated to San Ildefonso (St. Ildephonse), although I might be wrong.

Catedral de TOLEDO. This is the Capilla de San Blas (St. Blaise), a chapel in the cloister of the cathedral. The place houses the remains of Archbishop Pedro Tenorio. The panels depicting Biblical passages are currently being restored.

Monasterio de Lluc, MAJORCA. The Virgin of Lluc is the patroness of the island. While many of you would like to visit Majorca (Mallorca) to cavort on its beaches, I strongly recommend visiting this splendid religious enclave located in the mountainous area of the island.

Hi Marlon, excuse me for my English, but you know that's the worst of all your visitors. If you are ceiling addict, and you was in León, you had to see the ceiling of the "Panteón de los Reyes" in the Real Colegiata de San Isidoro. The romanic paints who are in these ceiling are the most beautiful, near the romanic paints of Tahull in Lleida (Catalonia), that you can ever seen in Spain. For this, taht place has the name of "La Capilla Sixtina del Románico". You can see a picture of that place in this link: Panteón de los Reyes Leoneses.

Sorry for my bad English.

Bye.

Hi, Roberto! Yeah, I got to visit the Panteón de los Reyes Leoneses and I have to admit that it has a very beautiful ceiling. However, I wasn't allowed to take pictures, so... *sigh*

Your English is good, btw.

Is forbidden to take photos in that place, but when I went with Constanza and Raimundo (Do you remember the both?), she waited to the moment when the guardian went out with the group and she could take a few photos.

Sorry twice for my bad English.

Bye.

I do remember Raimundo, but Constanza...? Hmmm...

Anyway, I wasn't able to sneak a picture or two in the Panteón de los Reyes Leoneses.
