Boycott Manila Standard

The World According to Marlon adds its voice in calling for the boycott of Philippine newspaper Manila Standard, following the reapparition of embattled columnist Malu Fernandez. The said travel writer had previously resigned her post after thousands of concerned citizens were outraged by an article she wrote on overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

As a Filipino who has been away from home for two years now, I personally am disgusted with the insensitive comments this "journalist" hurled against OFWs. Although I am not working abroad, I feel that the article was uncalled for and the fact that Manila Standard continues to publish Ms Fernandez's work says a lot about the editorial policies and the moral ascendancy of this newspaper.

Say no to bigotry. Say no to Malu Fernandez. Say no to Manila Standard.
